Our History

- 1992 A Pinetown christian couple, Kees and Anita Keyzer felt a calling from God to do something practical to relieve the plight of AIDs sufferers and so the idea of a Christian Care Centre was born.
- 1993 A property was purchased in Pinetown and the Rose of Sharon House - a hospice for Aids patients - was opened.
- 1994 A 59 acre property was purchased in Eston which was called the Lily of the Valley Evangelical Centre. The 300sq. meter barn was rebuilt and converted into a Childrens Home.
- 1997 The Pinetown property was sold and the Rose of Sharon House relocated to Eston.
- 1999 Opening of the Children's Village consisting of 12 self-contained cottages. A full-time house mother looks after six children in each cottage.
- 2002 Original Home (barn) converted into a Training/ Conference Centre
- 2002The enterprise was handed over to the Church of England in South Africa
- 2003 Kees & Anita Keyzer retire.
- 2004 Construction of 11 new cottages completed
- 2004 Education/Resource Centre opened
- 2004 Lily of the Valley Community Based Projects – purchase of 200 acre farm situated between Childrens Home and Mophela Community.
